HANDMADE BEANIES FOR BEANIE PEOPLE CROCHETED AND KNIT BY DAVID THRIFT
VIEWS FROM THE CRANE 001
For fun, I thought I would start a new photo series to share with my shoppers and site viewers, one of my favorite views that I get to see from time to time.
I have an awesome job as a fire gaurd at a sawmill in Alabama. I often use the crane as a lookout point to view the property. It serves as my “watch tower” of sorts and here’s a little secret… I often get a lot of my crochet work done while sitting in the cab.
I love nature, which means I love cloud gazing. When sitting in the cab of the crane, I get excellent views of the sky and the clouds.
That is what this photo series is about… sharing the views with you that I’ve enjoyed while working.
My plan is to share one photo each time I get to take advantage of enjoying some time to sit in the crane.
So here is the first photo below. I will share 10 photos per post in this photo series.

Sunday June 27th, 2021 @ 7:03 PM CST. There was a rainbow across the horizon when I took this photo, but it’s a little hard to see here.

Friday, July 2nd, 2021 @ 6:19 PM CST. The sky was extremely overcast on this day, so it didn’t make for an overly appealing view of the horizon, but I guess the clouds could have been worse when I took this photo.

Saturday, July 3rd, 2021 @ 7:37 PM CST. The sky was mostly clear on this evening.

Sunday, July 4th, 2021 @ 6:43 PM CST.

Friday, July 9th, 2021 @ 5:06 PM CST. A beautiful, hot sunny day with temps in the 80’s, and scattered clouds across the sky. [UPDATE @ 6:08 PM CST] – Little did I know when I took this photo, that huge dark clouds were coming with wind and rain. There was a slight storm for about 30 minutes, but then the sky started going back to scattered clouds.

Saturday, July 10th, 2021 @ 5:06 PM CST. Another beautiful, but hot summer day.
007.
Sunday, July 11th, 2021 @ 4:47 PM CST. There’s been rain today. Temperatures are in the mid to high 70’s this afternoon, with 75 degrees being the current temperature at time of this photo. The clouds broke up fast after this photo was taken, and the sun came out.

Sunday, July 11th, 2021 @ 5:08 PM CST. I don’t intend to (at least not often) post two photos on the same day in this photo series, however I had to post this one. As I mentioned in the photo above, the clouds broke up after raining. Then this beautiful rainbow appeared.

Friday, July 16th, 2021 @ 5:33 PM CST. Beautiful clouds everywhere across the sky again on this Friday. Temperatures this evening were in the 80’s. It was 84 degrees at the time of this update.

This closes this page in this photo series. I will start a new page on the blog tomorrow.
