CHECKING IN 007

This check-in is for Saturday, July 10th, 2021 starting at 12:01 AM CST.

It’s my 7th personal check-in on my blog here at DudeCapz.com, and if this is your first visit to my website and hat shop, welcome, and thank you for stopping by. I am always grateful for every visit.

I have been checking in here on my blog since Sunday, July 4th, 2021, and since that day, my check in posts here serve as my social media because I do not post my content on social media networks other than Twitter. My Twitter posts are generally updates only about this website, and my beanie store. If you would like more information about why I stopped posting on social networks, see CHECKING IN 002.

HERE IS WHAT’S HAPPENING THROUGHOUT MY DAY TODAY

12:17 AM CST – Good morning everyone! I’m kicking off my party today on this early early morning finishing out my shift at work. I have been here since 4 PM CST yesterday. I just watched a Kat DeLuna video megamix on YouTube from 2011. So I’m a little hyped up to hear some more music tonight. I am linking YouTube videos in the YouTube section down below if you want to check that out. I have been chillin’ out in the crane since around 11:00 PM earlier tonight (late last night to be technical), and I’ve been working on a beanie. It’s my 2nd crochet session through this work shift. I may actually finish the beanie this morning… or at least the majority of it if I stay motivated to work on it. If you are catching this check in early this morning and you are one of the night shift people like me, or you’re out enjoying your weekend, or just chillin’ at home and are up late, I hope your night is going fun, but safe and peaceful… or just quiet if that’s what you’re in the mood for. That’s one of the reasons I love my day (night job)…  it’s usually quiet and peaceful *smile*.

1:28 AM CST – Ok it’s time to put my 2nd crochet session to an end tonight. I’ve got to get out of the crane and move around… and go do my job as a guard.

1:56 AM CST – Lesson learned. Next time I buy cookies, I’ll put them in a ziplock bag or sealed storage container. I bought a family size pack of Chewy Chips Ahoy cookies to snack on over the weekend, and ants got in them while they were sitting in my truck. Damn ants. In the trash my cookies went. I’m a little ill over it. But it’s my fault. I should have known better than to trust the resealable package.

2:29 AM CST – What’s better? A social media account, or your own website? These were questions I asked myself recently when I decided not to post my main content to social media platforms. This statement I found on Google pretty much sums up why I’ve chosen website posting over everything else. – – – “Everything is in one place on a business’s personal webpage. Due to the amount of sharing and activity on social media pages, they are good for web searches. However, websites have the upper hand in internet searches as well. A website will be higher in the search results than a social media page due to relevance.” – – – It is the search engine relevance I’m after the most. These days, nearly all social media platforms are banning accounts for ignorant reasons. This causes people to lose days, weeks, months, and quite often, years of their content which is no longer searchable. I refuse to allow that to happen to my content again like it did through 2020, and much of 2021. Any posts that I make to social media now will only be links pointing back to my website. I know I’ve already said that in a prior check in, but I’m encouraging everyone to build their own website and blog. You can still post to social media if that’s your choice, but you still need a website to back your content up. Also having your content organized on a website makes it super easy to reference and find any time. WordPress.com is a great place to start for building your site. Note, I am not affiliated with wordpress.com, but I have been using them for my website hosting for years, and I highly recommend them.

2:59 AM CST – A random quote I just saw – – – Don’t waste words on people who deserve your silence. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can say is nothing at all.

3:02 AM CST – Having flashbacks of visiting some of my favorite parks around West Point Lake and Lake Harding in Alabama and Georgia. It’s been awhile since I’ve taken a good day trip to enjoy the views. I need to fix that before this summer is over.

4:15 PM CST – I made it to work at 4:00 PM CST this afternoon. This morning before I left work, I took a couple of panorama shots of the sky view behind the crane. I’m going to start a new photography series on my blog just for the panoramas. It’s another beautiful, but hot day again today. I’m hoping for no rain. There are scattered clouds all over the sky.

5:35 PM CST – I think I have started a new addiction for myself – panoramas. I’ve just finished taking several from the crane of the sky views, and I am enjoying taking them. I’m sure I will take several more before it gets dark. I need to get started on some crochet work though. So panoramas and crochet are what’s on my agenda for the next hour before I go back down to the ground and walk the property.

10:32 PM CST – I’ve had dinner (lasagna – frozen and microwaved), made my rounds to guard the property, and spend some time shopping for yarn online (I don’t need to be shopping for yarn lol). I need to get out of the crane and go walk the property again, and then I’m coming back for crochet session #2 tonight.

Check back to this page later and hit your refresh button in your browser to check for new updates. I try to post as frequently as possible on my check in pages with updates throughout the day. Updates can include new site additions, new beanies in my store, or just me rambling about what I’m doing. This page is still being updated as time permits until this message is removed.
