This check-in is for Tuesday, July 22nd, 2021 starting at 12:15 AM CST.
It’s my 19th personal check-in on my blog here at DudeCapz.com, and if this is your first visit to my website and hat shop, welcome, and thank you for stopping by. I am always grateful for every visit.
I have been checking in here on my blog since Sunday, July 4th, 2021, and since that day, my check in posts here serve as my social media because I do not post my content on social media networks other than Twitter. My Twitter posts are generally updates only about this website, and my beanie store. If you would like more information about why I stopped posting on social networks, see CHECKING IN 002.
HERE IS WHAT’S HAPPENING THROUGHOUT MY DAY TODAY ALONG WITH NEW WEBSITE + STORE UPDATES
3:33 AM CST – Good morning, and good day to you! How is everyone doing? I hope everyone is doing well. I am doing ok tonight. I’m in my home studio getting work done as usual lately for an early Thursday morning. If you haven’t seen the latest updates around the website and the store, please check the UPDATES page. As usual I will be posting updates to this check in as well throughout the day if I have anything important to tell, or just feel like jibber jabbering.
10:48 AM CST – Just ordered a circular knitting machine. If it works out, I will use it to produce some nice machine knit beanies. They will resemble department store beanies, but will still be handmade. I can’t wait to give it a try.
4:10 AM CST – An update in my beanie making workflow. Ok, so some new beanies are coming, but as of this update right now, I only have 3 completed new beanies with no photos taken, and I have 2 wips (works in progress not completed). I’m going to have to slow down on posting new beanies until next week. This weekend will be focused on completing my current wips, and getting some more started. I’m also making a change to how I update my wip posts on the blog. I will only be taking progress photos when I can do it in my studio. Over the past few weeks, I have been taking progress photos on the spot wherever I was and then posting them directly to the blog. That has been great, and I’ve enjoyed the almost instant gratification of making on the spot updates, except for the fact that my photos don’t look their best. I’d rather wait to take the photos when I can put my beanies in my photo tent and get some good photos made. So because I will be doing that, it means that I will be making my beanies in stages and then putting them to the side through each stage until I can get photos made of their progress. I don’t know yet how that is going to effect my overall workflow in production. We will all just have to wait and see how it works out, but I would rather there be a delay in getting new beanies posted in the store to get and to have great photos to promote them with through the whole process, than to rush and have ugly photos of my products. I will be packing my tote bag full of new yarn for the weekend.
4:20 AM CST – I have determine that the extra content section of my check in posts really aren’t necessary. I think I need to create seperate pages for those. I was already considering to make a “YouTube Archive” of all the YouTube videos I’ve been listing in these check in’s. I’m still going to do that, but I’m not going to be posting internet links or YouTube Links to these check in posts any longer. I will create that archive page for YouTube soon, and then I’ll start posting links there soon. I don’t even think anyone is checking those links in these check in’s, but that’s ok considering at this time, these check in’s are a new thing on the blog. I will still be collecting YouTube links though so that I’ll have them when I get the proper page set up.
7:18 PM CST – I went to the post office today to check my box. There was nothing in it. No news is good news right!?
